Topaz Clarity is a Photoshop plugin intended to enhance photographs by adding the depth and dimension. The tool uses smart technology to improve mainly contrast and clarity without creating unwanted side effects such as halos and artifacts. This way, the enhanced picture looks as natural as the original.
Since the tool is not available as a standalone, you need a host program from where you can use it. The plugin opens in a separate window with its own interface. Because it looks very similar to those of other Topaz products, you do not have to start from scratch if you have previous experience with any of them. In case you do not, it is also possible to consult the Quick Start Guide or the User Manual.
Just like the rest of the products in the family, Topaz Clarity divides the screen into three panels with the working area in the center. The changes being made to the photo can be viewed in real time, and you can also switch to split-screen mode, which allows comparing the picture before and after the modifications.
There are two ways in which you can use this plugin. The easiest consists on picking one of the 100 hundred preset available from the left panel. The hardest requires manually adjusting the parameters. Yet, it is allowed to use a combination of both, which means that you can start from a preset and then tweak it until you reach the desired effects. All you need to do is to move the sliders corresponding to hue, saturation, and luminosity. more
